Love and other such matters: True lovers are in each other all along

Our Life is painted by our perspective.

Our perspective is coloured by the lens of our vantage point.

A point of view that brings up the ideas of our Life, and that truly informs our actions — thus making us who we truly are.

Because of that, our point of view is all that matters. The Idea is what we see is who we are. Who we are is what we do. What we do is the thing that defines us in the modern World… And that is all.

But for me that is far too limiting and far too small for my mind to even bother to contain it’s essence.

Yet underneath all the drama, the restlessness, the hopes and fears, there has to be another quality. A little understood quality named Love. Little understood because the human mind has a tendency to make everything it takes up more complicated and elaborate than it needs to be, whereas Love is simple. Simple as the basic blocks of Life — the DNA, the protein switches and memory that makes us who we are. The Holly Algorythm of Life itself.

And we all have it. Somewhere deep, hidden behind the stories we weave about ourselves — stories that inform our Life and colour our Being — rests the incredible heaviness of Being in Love, or sporting a deficit of it.

There is no middle ground. Either you have it or You don’t. Simple as that. So remember that and act accordingly to find it because even before we’ve thought of ourselves as ourselves, lies a simple, unadorned awareness of it.

It’s not even a thing you can point a finger to. It’s just an event that happens, a little burst of knowing, deep in the centre of it all.

And then it hits you when you read the favourite Lover of all ages. The ultimate poet, leader, warrior of knowledge and light, Jallaladin of Rum, spelling out the basics and painting the sky with light vivid as lighting bolts erupting behind your eyeballs.

A real trip into my subconsciousness is what these words generate in me: “The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere …”

Last night was spent in a moving feast of a joyful meeting with a great friend, and as it happens, we had a most erudite discourse about Love and other hefty matters.

You know the incredible lightness of being able to freely share the goodness we all have bottled up within this mortal coil and soul. The goodness that pops out like champagne bubbles  and fills your soul with stars. The sharing of the stories that fills up your soul when you are with someone who gets it. Yes — that is it. Awesomeness personified in a conversation…

Me and my friend thus spoke not about Zarathustra, but about this new age thing called “Soulmates.”  Yes indeed we spoke about this much maligned ideal of fully requited Love. The Holy Grail of being. The majestic crown of Life no less…

We spoke over a long night of introspection and joy of living while traveling through the time space continuum and doing great things, and I think that now am getting it.

It sure took a while. A lifetime… and an infinity to boot. A bit longish, but there you have it.

The incredibly clear eyed Sophist Philosopher otherwise known as a Sufi mystic and poet Jalal al-Din Rumi reasoned thus: “The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.”

And my Irish friend wearing his mind like Jesus Christ had this to say: “Like a puzzle picture slowly materializing, as we have learned more and more about each other, we have come to realize that we just fit within and all the years of hardship and different relationships with women needy and clingy and possessive, that kept shutting doors in my face have finally brought me here to where I have a new partner that is willing to just help me be and achieve what is my Life’s purpose and support, heal, guide, and nourish me to that Life of Purpose and Meaning ”

He said that “To understand your mind; how it works, how attachment and desire arise, how ignorance arises, ho suffering is entailed, how everything leads you to where you want to be, and where our current emotions come from, it is sufficient to know the nature of all that. The fact that all those closed loops, the cul de sacs of Life, the slamming doors, and the prolonged lessons delivered painfully clear — all that drives you home to a place where a kindred souls awaits. A place where that Soul can bring you happiness and peace. Thus, your life can change completely; everything turns upside down. What you once interpreted as horrible can become beautiful and a step towards your completion….

And after seeing the sun rising up to the new dawn — this finally drove the point home.

Yours,

Pano

PS:

For me it is as Rumi says: “When you think of Soulmates — think, there is a bit of us in each other from the start.”
